ECOTA works to increase the visibility of bi-national energy issues by extending our reach with the media beyond the border regions. Frequent coverage in national media outlets such as:
…just to name a few as well as our online and social media presence helps to ensure that we’re leveraging all tools to advance our policy and educational agenda.
ECOTA helps to facilitate collaborative efforts between bi-national federal, state, local governments and private sector stakeholders to address specific how-to business requirements to insure that businesses succeed on foreign soils while demystifying stereotypes. ECOTA’s strong working relationships with federal agencies, US and Mexican legislative and business leaders allows our members to work together with public and private partners to identify specific actionable solutions to regional energy challenges.
Legislative Collaboration and Cooperation
ECOTA is often the first organization looked to by congressional lawmakers on both sides of the border in developing and leveraging effective legislation or appropriations that serve energy and trade interests. In fact, the ECOTA was the first non-governmental organization to address legislators at the U.S.-Mexico Binational Commission and is often asked to give expert testimony in major public and private forums in the US and Mexico.
Shared Interests Across Borders
ECOTA brings leaders together from US and Mexico to share best practices in meeting legislative, business, trade and educational challenges to better identify solutions and opportunities.
Grassroots Approach and Representation
Our strength comes from collaboration with interested communities to accurately convey the current challenges facing the environment, government agencies and private companies in creating educational environments where all parties can learn and collaborate together to find solutions that in the end benefit the regional communities and enhance quality of life.
Effective Implementation of Policy Agenda
When a bill is signed into law or a policy is adopted, ECOTA’s job isn’t done. We’re there throughout the rulemaking and implementation process ensuring that federal agencies on both sides of the border are acting in the best interest and spirit of the law to insure the best quality of life for regional communities.
Congressional Briefings, Legislative Visits and Testimony
ECOTA continues to contribute directly to the development of energy, trade and security policy through frequent testimony before bi-national congressional committees and ongoing interaction with Capitol Hill, Mexico City and corresponding federal agencies.
